Martishor- Happy Spring!

Today is March first and in my old country it would’ve been the first day of spring and everybody would give each other Martishors – symbols of new love, new beginnings, symbol of fresh spring air after a long, long winter.

Red is the colour of fire, blood, and the symbol of life, associated with the woman.
White is the colour of the cold snow, foamy waters, the clouds, and also of man’s wisdom.
So, the thread of the Martishor represents the union of the feminine and the masculine principles and the end of winter – beginning of spring!!!!

I know it’s still 20 more days until Spring officially comes here, but just this time I would like to bend a rule a little!

Happy Spring everybody!!!
